together with a study of the earliest years of mechanical recording. I have
collected vintage recordings for several years and listened to many a
performance resonating in my ears that appear to be attempts to record in a

history of recording in the earliest days and on recorded repertoire Included

their repertoire.I have intentionally disregarded the main output of larger
corporations because this information is readily available.On the other hand,
I have included much information on the formation of early and obscure record
